The actor has previously been an outspoken critic of Tr*mp, and said that she considered leaving the country after his reelection. She even gave the keynote speech at the LA “Trans Liberation Now!” rally, saying,
“The real enemy is not actually trans people. The real enemy’s not migrants, or poor people, or homeless people, or any other scapegoat that they claim. The enemy clearly is the plutocrats, the oligarchs, the billionaires and corporations who create these issues to divide working-class people.”
“He is a blonde hair, blue-eyed MAGA Republican voter who is a New York City police officer. We were madly in love. I did not develop any of these politics. I still have my own,” she continued, before calling him “hot” and teasing that fans could “hear more about that” at her show.
Needless to say: Her fans weren’t really wanting to hear more about it at her show. They had heard enough lol. Laverne received some backlash in the comment section of her socials, which she’s since responded to:
“You are able to look past the fact that someone voted against your community and basically everything you represent…? I don’t get the punch line… nor does this entice me to want to go to a show to figure out how you justify this.”

Sorry but there is no defense for this, it just makes her a hypocrite. I usually like Laverne but how do you sit there and try to justify someone who is voting against your entire existence? Not to mention it shows how much of a hypocrite he is for voting against her very existence.
